Weekend Projects

Here are few new projects I have been working on this weekend that I thought I would share.

Mood Boards

I asked a talented friend of mine, Alex Butta, to create some mood boards for me. I needed some inspiration for my next few projects.

Alex is the visual merchandising manager and interior decorator for Freedom Furniture in Preston and runs her own business, Alebi Styling and Design on the side. You can find Alebi here on Facebook

Getting back to Nature

My little boy Jackson was very sick last week with a nasty flu that just wouldn't quit. Poor little guy. But he's on the mend now and we had a lovely weekend enjoying the beautiful spring weather in Melbourne. Here's a few pieces I have been working on, inspired by the beautiful shapes and colours of nature. X

Late night Owls

It's been a busy few weeks for me, freelancing for an amazing company here in Australia. I feel absolutely exhausted when I get home each night and after spending a few hours with the kids, I usually collapse into bed. But tonight I decided to whip up some owls. Hoot Hoot!

Spoonflower fabric8 winner!

Ok so this is kind of old news now but I won the fabric8 contest with Spoonflower! I've been meaning to update my blog with the news but have been so busy! So, winning the contest now means that I get to release my cosmic voyage fabric collection with Robert Kaufman fabrics very soon. As you can imagine, I am very excited! 

I have been working on lots of new things lately including some detailed pencil drawings and also playing around with lots of patterns using pencil and watercolour.

Here's an update on some of my recent work. I have been really enjoying playing around with watercolours, paints and ink lately.

Abstract art, who knew?!

I've been working on some more abstract art paintings in both watercolour and acrylic. I never thought 'abstract' was really my 'thing' but I'm kinda addicted now!

And finally, here is my third design idea for the fabric8 comp on Spoonflower. I have one more design to go that needs to be submitted by the 17th of July for the final voting round, eek!
